What is SMTP AUTH?
<< Step 2

Eudora 5 Settings - Checking Mail:
Again, the screen is fairly self-explanatory, and most of it should be already filled out if you completed step 2 :
- Account/Server Information
- Enter your username (including number!) in the Username field
- In the "Mail Server" field, put the POP3 (incoming) server name
- "Mail Protocol" must be "POP"
- "Authentication" must be "Passwords"
- You can check or uncheck "Save Password", but we recommend leaving it checked
- Do NOT check "overlap commands"
- Connection
- Put a check in the "Check for mail..." box
- Please do not check mail any more often than on 10 minute intervals...
- The other options here do not matter for the purposes of SMTP AUTH
- Mail Management
- None of these settings matter for the purposes of SMTP AUTH
Step 4 : The "Sending Mail" item on the left
